Fear is Not Your Friend

Have you felt bombarded by fear over the past couple years? Have you been hearing lots of negative doom and gloom chatter? We were all born for the extraordinary! Allow me to encourage you visionaries, pioneers and pacesetters. We’re going to explore a few powerful keys on how to thrive, create, reinvent and overcome fear in business, sales and dealing with conflicts.
Predetermined Mindset

Fear is not your friend! What if we simply recognize fear as the enemy of greatest? What if you have a predetermined response or mindset for each moment fear knocks on your thinking or pops its head out of nowhere? Think for a moment, if someone knocks at your door and you don’t feel at peace, we don’t open the door. Have an attitude that says, there is always a solution! I choose not to answer fear! Knowing in your heart in advance, your business is valuable to mankind and you can and will create your way forward!  Make a conscious choice in that moment to take action, to step through the mirage of fear!

“Fears are nothing more than a state of mind.” ~ Napoleon Hill

Transformed Perspective

Transforming the view of fear can be a powerful perspective! Think for a moment how a jet overcomes the law of gravity with the law of lift and the law of thrust! Have a mindset that fear is defeated and is not your identity. Fear does not have to be picked up. That sales “no” does not mean you did something wrong or your product or service is not worthy. Even the medical and wellness fields have proven that a constant state of fear is not good for thriving health. Fear can start from avoidance of things like dread which can lead to worry and anxiety that can feed a negative mindset. Ask yourself what would it look like to take proactive action daily fueling and feeding your core purpose?

“If you believe it will work out, you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t, you will see obstacles.” ~ Wayne Dyer
Overcoming Scarcity Mindsets

Think of a salesperson or thriving business owner who has overcome the fear of rejection. They keep moving in a growth mode, adjusting, pivoting, not allowing the fear of rejection to determine their success. What key that sets a thriving leader apart is an abundant mindset who has stepped through the past (Scar-City) or a scarcity mindset. In other words, despite challenges and hurdles, they choose to continue in their clear purpose. They have made a committed decision to transform their mind into an abundant mindset. Here is a simple perspective with an abundant and scarcity mindset.
Scarcity Mindset

1. There’s not enough or never enough.
2. I am not enough or I am not worthy.
3. Scarcity mindset plays not to lose, therefore remains at the starting line.
Abundant Mindset

1. There is more than enough.
2. I am enough and I am worthy.
3. Abundant mindset plays to win win.

One major tip to winning big over a fearful mindset and fear in general is feeding your mind daily with abundant mindset food! What we feed will grow! Abundant mindset carries a transformed thinking of seeing the glass overflowing not just half full. Abundant mindset is a way of thinking and choosing, but has nothing to do with money, but influences money, sales and growth. It’s an approach to business that goes beyond even being optimistic. It’s a conviction of something before it takes place. Scarcity can be a negative self-talk that influences choices based on the past failures and defeats. Feed your abundant mindset with people who are going where you want to go, the books you read daily, the recordings you listen to.

“Many of our fears are tissue paper thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them.” ~ Brendan Francis
Fear Is Not A Healthy Counselor

Fear of man is like a trap. Taking the bait can delay your vision, destiny and purpose in business. Let’s look at something very insightful that General George Patton said. He was a famous World War II military leader. He was well known for his courage and bravery in battle. In his autobiography, Patton said something profound about fear, “I learned very early in my life never to take the counsel of my fears.”
Leaders Take Action

He was saying not to take counsel from your fears. Embracing counsel from being fearful will most definitely cause reactionary decision making. A leader who is not led by fear of failure, fear of rejection or fear of man, will stand tall with courage to adjust the sail and capture the wind moving the sailboat into destiny and promise.

“One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do.” ~ Henry Ford

Ask yourself this question, what is it costing you by not taking action? What is the worst thing that could happen making that sales call or reaching out to a stranger asking powerful questions? In-action will feed fear and cause it to grow, feeding apathy, excuses, even justifying not creating forward.
Here are a few ideas to consider:

1. What one step of action could you take daily to advance your business forward this week?
2. What new mental movie could you play in your mind feeding growth action steps?
3. Who could you invite on your journey to synergize action?
4. What book could you read 15 minutes a day to feed the right mental attitude?

“Fear isn’t an excuse to come to a standstill. It’s the impetus to step up and strike.” ~ Arthur Ashe
