17 Minutes

17 Minutes!

Science Backed Rule 100

What’s possible with deliberate, consistent practice? Psychologists have researched performance and found significant results with daily, deliberate and focused actions. 17 minutes a day = 103 hours of investment in one year.

Influence of One, 17 Minute Habit

What’s possible with deliberate practice? What one daily habit, diligently applied for 17 minutes a day could influence your life or business in one year?

Our deliberate, focused, consistent action really does matter! What if you began today to take action for 17 minutes a day?

Possibly it could be a goal to practice improving a very specific skill. Think, for a moment, the influence of how this one skill/habit could be a positive domino effect!

A Leader’s Dedication

When a leader dedicates 17 minutes a day to a deliberate practice, researchers have found over time, this will compound and reinforce neural pathways. We can rewrite a new story going forward! If you're in sales, what if you cultivated relationships for 17 minutes a day? Or you could practice an instrument or take a walk outdoors 17 minutes a day?

“Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.” ~ Zig Ziglar

Influence from Focused Consistency

1). Pick one specific goal…

Example: To be proficient in an area, consider asking what one habit, if I did it daily for 17 minutes, would advance my life or business? Write your top five then narrow down to one.

2). Resources

Example: What books, blogs, podcasts, coaching or mentoring could you feed on to influence this deliberate goal of 17 minutes?

3). One, 17 minute daily habit etched into your core beliefs

With a daily focus to fuel this 17 minutes, what could you feed this habit with to exponentially influence your life? There is a compounding impact by committing to a small action. This habit then can replace an old habit.

4). Measuring Growth

After 17 minutes a day, chart and journal your progress connecting the dots. Take note of your wins. Remember to keep it very simple.

5). Take Action

Apply what you are learning daily from those 17 minutes. Your focused, daily application develops proficiency. Action can have many facets. Take note of the positive ripple effect from your actions.
