The Power of Rhythm
Rhythm comes from the Greek word, “rhythmos," which means measured movement or a flow. What’s possible when a leader or business has a thriving rhythm? What we can measure we receive feedback to adjust, prune, sharpen and grow. We may not necessarily see rhythm, but rhythm is a byproduct from influence when it’s in place. When a business ecosystem has rhythm, it fosters growth like a greenhouse! We all have seen our favorite sports team with or without rhythm. We know when it exists, but what are the keys to start rhythm?
Team Tempo
Consider your team; each individual might have their own tempo and rhythm. When combined, these unique rhythms can create a sort of symphony. What if you could shift, develop, or place people into different roles to enhance this Synergistic Rhythm? Imagine combining a pianist with a guitarist, then adding a drummer and a saxophonist. The tempo and overall experience transform with the addition of various instruments.
Establish Roles
One method to fine-tune rhythm and identify capacity issues is to clearly define roles for each team member. Reflect on how each role interconnects to ensure no one operates in isolation. How do these roles enable individuals to excel? Understanding their strengths, gifts, personalities, and talents can profoundly benefit both them and the business. To boost efficiency and develop a harmonious business rhythm, place individuals in roles that they're passionate about and align with their strengths.
Questions to consider:
1. Does your team know and understand their role?
2. When they’re in that role, does that person come alive?
3. How could you invest in their growth?
4. How could you add value to their roles?
